How do you improve on a Quentin Tarantino soundtrack? Easy: you just make the soundtrack he would've wanted to make but was at the time unable to.
When his first film
Reservoir Dogs came out in 1992 he was a rookie, a nobody with a cool script and little more. So when time came to compile the soundtrack the low budget didn't allow him to include all of the songs he wanted to, so he had to compromise and just include a handful.
With the character of radio DJ K-Billy, voiced by comedian Steven Wright, name-dropping all kinds of classic 70s tracks in the film Tarantino would've loved to have made the soundtrack album into a slammin'
K-Billy's 70s Radio Hour instead of having to cut it short at a silly 30 minutes and including recent recordings to fill out the time. Seriously, who the fuck are Bedlam and why are they on the soundtrack? Tarantino hated having to include them.
I of course base these statements on absolutely nothing. All conjecture that I made up just now.
What I did was I took all of the 70s songs on the soundtrack and edited in all of the songs mentioned by K-Billy and the other characters in the film, thus making a perfect 50 minute
K-Billy's Super Sounds Of The 70s playlist.
If you were able to step into the movie and turn on the radio, this is exactly what would be blaring out of the speakers and you would love every second.
